This is by way of an introduction to ATG new blog page it is intended that trainees at the centre and others will have an input into the material on this page we hope that trainees will participate by posting up information on some of the new skills that they have learnt and life generally from with in the workshop.  It is hoped that this will inspire others to take up the challenge and take up a rewarding career in Engineering.

EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK COURSE – TUESDAY 28 MARCH 2023
Course Instructor: Paul Russell
We are running the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course on Tuesday 28 March 2023.
The cost of the course is £110 plus VAT per person and runs from 9.00 am—4.00 pm.
This course provides basic First Aid instruction for persons required by their employer to act as the appointed person responsible for the immediate response to a First Aid emergency, in circumstances where there are no qualified First Aiders.

SCOTTISH APPRENTICESHIP WEEK 2023

Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2023
ATG OPEN DAYS: WEDNESDAY 8 & THURSDAY 9 MARCH **(SPACES NEED TO BE PRE-BOOKED)
Please note spaces for the open days have to be pre-booked. More dates will be added as required. To book a space, please telephone 01241 873299.
As part of our helping to promote the Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2023 #ApprenticeShop and #ScotAppWeek23 we will be hosting open days on Wednesday 8 & Thursday 9 March @ 10:30 am for anyone interested in applying, or to find out more about the Engineering Modern Apprenticeship. The open days will also include a tour of the workshop to give an idea of the different areas of engineering covered in the first year off the job training we provide. The event will last appx. 45 minutes/1 hour.
Application forms will be available on the day.

We are currently taking bookings for the above course.

The 1/2 day course is to be held at our premises on MONDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2022 9:00 am—12:30 pm.

This training course offers operators of abrasive wheels from all types of industry the opportunity to be trained to the requirements of PROVISION & USE of WORK EQUIPMENT REGULATIONS (PUWER). It is recommended that re-training is done every 3 years.

The cost of the course is £80 + VAT per person.

We can also hold courses in company and on other dates if required.

ATG SUMMER BREAK

ATG will be closed for the summer break from Monday 18 July – Friday 5 August inclusive. We re-open Monday 8 August @ 8:00 am.
Our new intake will start with us on Monday 15 August @ 8:00 am.
Some companies are still to set up their own interviews so a reminder to all applicants to check your e-mails (including spam/junk folders) and answer any calls you receive as this could be companies trying to get in touch with you to set up interviews. Some companies numbers are withheld so answer ALL calls.

Instructor Joe Spink attended a Business Breakfast at Carnoustie Golf Hotel on Wednesday 22 June for (new) S6 pupils.
This was a networking type event to highlight careers and career pathways pupils may be interested in.
Although our recruitment process for the 2022 intake is closed, Joe let those attending the event know about the engineering Modern Apprenticeship and how anyone interested in applying for the 2023 intake can do so from January 2023.
