This is by way of an introduction to ATG new blog page it is intended that trainees at the centre and others will have an input into the material on this page we hope that trainees will participate by posting up information on some of the new skills that they have learnt and life generally from with in the workshop. It is hoped that this will inspire others to take up the challenge and take up a rewarding career in Engineering.

A couple of updates:
To complete the training for our current 1st year apprentices, the Centre will not be closing for the usual 3 weeks summer break this year.
Our new intake of apprentices this year will start with us on Monday 7 September 2020. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the start date for the new intake has had to be put back from the normal mid-August start.
For all 2020 applicants, please remember to check e-mails regularly and answer any telephone calls you receive in case this is companies trying to get in touch with you regarding an apprenticeship.
As mentioned before, if you decide you are no longer interested in an apprenticeship for whatever reason, staying on at school, got another job or such like, then please let us know so we can update our records to avoid wasting anyone’s time. We are pleased to announce that following Government guidelines and a Risk Assessment undertaken, all instructional training staff and first year apprentices will return to operation on Monday 29 June to complete their first year off-the-job training.
There will be skeleton office staff in from Monday as well with the remaining staff continuing to work remotely from home.
Just a reminder to all applicants for this year’s intake to check your e-mails regularly and respond to any you receive promptly, with the same applying to any telephone calls you may receive. We have been in touch with your employers following the most recent Government guidelines with regards to ATG re-opening.
You will hear directly from your employers but will receive detailed information from us via e-mail with regards to the procedures in place, in due course.
We are pleased to say that our recruitment process for this year is now finalised. As advised at your test and/or interview, our member companies will be invited to look at all the successful applications and get full information on any applicants they are interested in. This will be done via an online portal this year due to the Centre still being closed as per Government COVID-19 guidelines.

Please note the closing date for receipt of applications is FRIDAY 5 JUNE 2020. We will be carrying out the last of the interviews the week commencing Monday 8 June to finalise our recruitment process for this year.

A reminder that although the Centre is closed, all staff are working from home remotely. If you don’t have the staff member’s contact details, send your enquiry to firstname.lastname@example.org where it will be forwarded on to the appropriate person. Any messages left on our answering machine are being picked up as and when a staff member goes to the Centre, but ideally any queries should be e-mailed to us where it will be picked up quicker.

Another week of lockdown with the Centre closed, but with all ATG staff working remotely from home. A reminder that if you need to contact a staff member and don’t have their e-mail address, you can send an e-mail in to firstname.lastname@example.org and your message will be forwarded on to the appropriate staff member.
Another reminder that we are still accepting applications for the Engineering Modern Apprenticeship although obviously there will be delays to setting up dates and times for the Entrance Assessment Test/Interviews. You can apply online via our website (remember to follow the online instructions for doing this) or an application form can be sent to your e-mail address – just e-mail email@example.com and a form will be sent to you.

COVID-19 SITUATION – APPLICATIONS FOR 2020 INTAKE
Obviously these are uncertain times, but please be assured that we will be in touch with an update of how things are, so please keep an eye on your e-mails.
If you have applied and not sat the Entrance Assessment Test, we will be in touch when we have a practical solution with a date and time for this and again, keep an eye on your e-mails.
If you are waiting to attend your interview we will be in touch, again when we have a practical solution. However, if you have attended your interview then be aware that you are waiting on individual employers to contact you directly as advised before.
We will also keep our Facebook page and website updated with any changes.
ATG are closed due to the COVID-19 situation, with all staff working remotely from home.
This is just a reminder that ATG would have been closed next week (Monday 6 – Friday 10 April) for the Easter break normally, and therefore staff will be on holiday on these dates and will resume working from home on Monday 13 April.
